How to grow

From seed to harvest in four simple steps

1

Prepare the soil

Loosen well-drained soil and mix in a handful of compost or organic manure. Smooth the bed and remove any large clods.

2

Sow the seeds

Plant the seeds about 1 cm deep, spaced evenly. Lightly cover with soil — no need to bury too deep.

3

Water gently

Water with a fine spray immediately. Keep the soil consistently moist (not soaked) until the seedlings emerge.

4

Watch them grow

In 7–14 days you'll see the first sprouts. Thin out crowded seedlings and feed lightly every 2–3 weeks.

About F1 Chilly Nidhi-501 Seeds

Chilly is an essential ingredient in Indian cooking and one of the most rewarding plants to grow at home. The Nidhi-501 F1 hybrid is a high-yielding variety that produces hot, flavourful chillies consistently through the season. Compact and container-friendly, it thrives on sunny balconies and terraces across India.

Health Benefits of Chilly

  • High in Vitamin C: Green chillies are one of the richest sources of vitamin C, supporting immunity and skin health.
  • Boosts Metabolism: Capsaicin in chillies is proven to increase metabolic rate and support weight management.
  • Natural Pain Relief: Capsaicin has anti-inflammatory properties that help reduce pain and inflammation.
  • Rich in Antioxidants: Chillies contain flavonoids and carotenoids that protect cells from oxidative damage.

How to Grow Chilly at Home

Sow seeds 0.5 inch deep in a cocopeat-compost mix. Transplant seedlings to 10-12 inch pots after 3-4 weeks. Water every 2-3 days and ensure 6+ hours of direct sunlight daily. Pinch early flower buds to encourage bushy growth and better yield. Green chillies are ready in 60-70 days.

When to Sow Chilly Seeds

Chilly grows year-round in warm Indian climates. Best sowing windows are February to March and August to September. Avoid transplanting in peak summer heat as seedlings are sensitive to scorching.
