How to grow

From seed to harvest in four simple steps

1

Prepare the soil

Loosen well-drained soil and mix in a handful of compost or organic manure. Smooth the bed and remove any large clods.

2

Sow the seeds

Plant the seeds about 1 cm deep, spaced evenly. Lightly cover with soil — no need to bury too deep.

3

Water gently

Water with a fine spray immediately. Keep the soil consistently moist (not soaked) until the seedlings emerge.

4

Watch them grow

In 7–14 days you'll see the first sprouts. Thin out crowded seedlings and feed lightly every 2–3 weeks.

About Tomato Nidhi Cherry Seeds

Cherry tomatoes are a favourite among Indian home gardeners for their sweet flavour, prolific yield and compact growing habit. The Nidhi Cherry variety produces clusters of small, bright red fruits that are perfect for salads, snacking and garnishing. Easy to grow in pots and grow bags, it is one of the best crops for sunny balconies and terraces.

Health Benefits of Cherry Tomato

  • Rich in Lycopene: A powerful antioxidant that supports heart health and reduces cancer risk.
  • High in Vitamin C: Boosts immunity and supports collagen production for healthy skin.
  • Good for Eye Health: Beta-carotene and lutein protect eyes from age-related damage.
  • Low in Calories: A nutritious, low-calorie snack that supports weight management.

How to Grow Cherry Tomato at Home

Sow seeds 0.5 inch deep in a cocopeat-compost mix. Transplant seedlings to 12 inch pots or grow bags after 3-4 weeks. Provide a stake or cage for support. Water daily and ensure 6+ hours of direct sunlight. Pinch off side shoots to keep the plant focused on fruiting. Fruits are ready in 55-65 days from transplanting.

When to Sow Cherry Tomato Seeds

Cherry tomato grows best in mild to warm weather. Best sowing windows in India are July to August for a winter harvest and January to February for a summer crop. Avoid transplanting during peak summer heat as young plants are sensitive to scorching temperatures.
