How to grow

From seed to harvest in four simple steps

1

Prepare the soil

Loosen well-drained soil and mix in a handful of compost or organic manure. Smooth the bed and remove any large clods.

2

Sow the seeds

Plant the seeds about 1 cm deep, spaced evenly. Lightly cover with soil — no need to bury too deep.

3

Water gently

Water with a fine spray immediately. Keep the soil consistently moist (not soaked) until the seedlings emerge.

4

Watch them grow

In 7–14 days you'll see the first sprouts. Thin out crowded seedlings and feed lightly every 2–3 weeks.

About Cauliflower Nidhi-802 Seeds

Cauliflower, known as Phool Gobi across India, is a beloved winter vegetable used in everything from sabzi and pakoras to biryani and parathas. The Nidhi-802 variety produces firm, dense white curds with good uniformity and shelf life. It grows well in pots, raised beds and kitchen gardens during the cool winter months across India.

Health Benefits of Cauliflower

  • High in Vitamin C: Supports immunity, skin health and iron absorption.
  • Rich in Folate: Essential for cell growth and particularly important during pregnancy.
  • Good for Digestion: High fibre content promotes healthy gut function and prevents constipation.
  • Anti-Inflammatory: Contains sulforaphane and other compounds that help reduce inflammation in the body.

How to Grow Cauliflower at Home

Sow seeds 0.5 inch deep in a cocopeat-compost mix. Transplant seedlings to 12-15 inch pots after 3-4 weeks. Water every 2-3 days and ensure 6+ hours of direct sunlight. Once the curd begins to form, tie outer leaves over it to block sunlight and keep it white and firm. Ready to harvest in 70-90 days from transplanting.

When to Sow Cauliflower Seeds

Cauliflower is a cool-season crop that performs best in winter. Best sowing windows across India are September to November for a winter harvest. Avoid sowing in summer as high temperatures cause the curd to loosen and yellow quickly.
