How to grow

From seed to harvest in four simple steps

1

Prepare the soil

Loosen well-drained soil and mix in a handful of compost or organic manure. Smooth the bed and remove any large clods.

2

Sow the seeds

Plant the seeds about 1 cm deep, spaced evenly. Lightly cover with soil — no need to bury too deep.

3

Water gently

Water with a fine spray immediately. Keep the soil consistently moist (not soaked) until the seedlings emerge.

4

Watch them grow

In 7–14 days you'll see the first sprouts. Thin out crowded seedlings and feed lightly every 2–3 weeks.

About Cucumber Nidhi Green Value Pack Seeds

Cucumber is one of the most refreshing and easy-to-grow vegetables for Indian home gardens. The Nidhi Green Value Pack is a high-yielding variety that produces crisp, dark green cucumbers perfect for salads, raitas and juices. Whether you have a terrace garden or a sunny balcony, this variety thrives in India's warm summers and monsoon season.

Health Benefits of Cucumber

  • Hydrating: Cucumbers are 96% water, making them perfect for staying cool and hydrated through Indian summers.
  • Rich in Vitamins: A good source of vitamins K and C which support bone health and immunity.
  • Supports Digestion: High water and fibre content promotes healthy digestion and regular bowel movements.
  • Low in Calories: An excellent snack for weight-conscious individuals with virtually zero fat.

How to Grow Cucumber at Home

Sow seeds 1 inch deep in well-drained soil or a cocopeat-compost mix. Set up a trellis or vertical support before sowing as cucumber vines climb readily. Space plants 45 cm apart. Water daily in summer and ensure at least 6 hours of sunlight. Fruits are ready to harvest in 45-55 days from sowing.

When to Sow Cucumber Seeds

Cucumber is a warm-season crop. Best sowing windows in India are February to April for a summer harvest and June to July for a monsoon crop. Avoid sowing in winter as cucumber does not tolerate frost or cold soil.
